There are about 7 or 8 schools being considered Everette Brown, a 6-3, 230-pound star defensive end/tight end out of Beddingfield High School in Wilson, NC. The latest program to enter the mix is the University of Georgia.
“At this time I’m not sure who will make the top 5,” Brown said. “On Friday I got a call from Georgia and they offered. I don’t know too much about them, but I’ll look into it. Some of the schools I’m looking at are Virginia Tech, UNC, N.C. State, Florida State, Penn State, Miami and Tennessee. I have offers from all of them.”
Brown is not only deciding who will make his final 5, but which schools he will take official visits to.
”I’m still trying to narrow my list down and get my official visits set,” Brown said. “I’m debating some things about my official visits. “I know N.C. State goes to Virginia Tech this weekend. I talked to Coach Wiles and he wants to get me up for the game. I’m trying to see if I can make it. I’d say there’s a 75-percent chance I’ll make it.”
If Brown visits Virginia Tech this weekend, it will mark the first time he has ever been to Blacksburg. If he doesn’t, it appears the Hokies still have a good chance at landing an official visit.
“They have a strong chance at getting an official visit,” Brown said, referring to Virginia Tech. “I’m very interested in them. The only thing is that I haven’t been to their campus. I’ve been talking to the coaches and they say they have a good Business school. They need defensive ends. Coach Wiles said they are going to sign 2 this year and they’re looking for guys that can come in and play.”
Beddingfield is 3-2 on the season. On offense, Brown has made 13 catches for 300 yards and 6 touchdowns from the tight end position. On...
