Scotland (Laurinburg, NC) quarterback Cameron Sexton has the next two weekends already set. This weekend he goes to Raleigh, NC, to see the Ohio State at N.C. State game for an unofficial visit. Next weekend, Sexton travels to Florida State for an official visit.

As for the rest of his official visits, Sexton has not decided on any dates. Is Virginia Tech in the mix for an official?

“Oh yeah, I’m definitely going to take an official visit to Virginia Tech,” Sexton said. “That’s been the plan all along.”

Sexton has made one official visit already – he went to Clemson University on the weekend of September 4th.

“It was a good trip,” Sexton said. “I definitely did feel comfortable. It was neat seeing an extension of our offense. I could see myself there. Clemson’s definitely going to be right there in the hunt until the end.”

Five schools continue to have the edge for the talented signal caller.

“I haven’t changed anything in my top 5,” Sexton said. “I’m still looking at Clemson, Virginia Tech, Florida State, N.C. State and UNC. There are no favorites right now.”

It appears Sexton will make official visits to the 3 out-of-state programs and unofficials to the two in-state schools.

“UNC and N.C. State are both so close that, once I get the official visits out of the way, I can go up to each of those schools for a bunch of unofficial visits,” Sexton said. “I’ve been to both so many times that I already know a lot about each program.”

As for his next official visit, Sexton looks forward to his time in Tallahassee.

“They’ve done a real good job recruiting me,” Sexton said, referring to the Florida State coaches. “I’ve grown close to them. I want to see how they’ll rebound from a tough week. I’ll be down there for the Bowden Bowl, so it’ll be exciting.”

Sexton commented on what Tech has going for them right now.

“Virginia Tech is right up there,” Sexton said. “Coach Cavanaugh, Coach Rogers and Coach Beamer have done a great job recruiting me. That’s the main thing for them right now. I’m probably closest to [the VT coaches] than anyone else. And the opportunity there could be interesting with the Marcus Vick situation up in the air.”
