Burns (Lawndale, NC) wide receiver Josh Briscoe , who is one of the top prospects in the state of North Carolina, has set 5 official visits. Unfortunately for Cavalier fans, UVa was not one of them.
“I have set 5 official visits,” Briscoe said. “They are Clemson, Tennessee, Georgia, Maryland and N.C. State. I liked the coaching staffs and the returning players next year for each team. I’m going to Clemson this weekend, Tennessee on September 18th, Georgia on October 2nd, Maryland on October 9th and N.C. State on October 23rd.
“These are my 5 official visits, but not necessarily my final 5. I’m still considering some other schools.”
One of the first schools to offer, UVa has recruited the talented receiver very hard since the beginning. Briscoe told UVa of his 5 official visits last week.
“I talked to Coach Mike Groh,” Briscoe said. “I told him the 5 visits I was taking. He told me that if I’m still considering them, they would have liked for me to take an official visit there. He asked if I wanted them to continue to recruit me. I said yes but I told him that I wasn’t going to take an official visit there.”
Briscoe says he would like to make his decision following the 5 official visits. It appears UVa is, for the most part, out of the running here.
