Pitts One of Georgia’s Best

As a junior last season, North Hall High School (Gainesville, GA) tailback TJ Pitts rushed for 1,800 yards and 21 touchdowns on 184 carries, earning first-team all-area and all-state honors for his performance. Heading into this season, North Hall Head Coach Bob Christmas says his star tailback looks even better than last year.

“He’s doing fantastic,” Christmas said of his 5-10, 195-pound tailback. Christmas says Pitts runs around a 4.4 in the 40. “He’s been picked to be a preseason all-state performer. TJ is expected to be one of the most prolific players in the state. He’s had a great preseason so far. We’ve run an intense program during the summer. We work out from 7-10 am four days a week and he’s been there every day. He’s really been working hard. He didn’t go to any camps this summer, but since he’s already gotten some offers and has a lot of interest he didn’t really need to go to any.”

According to Christmas, Pitts still holds offers from 3 schools – North Carolina, Virginia and Virginia Tech. In addition to these 3 offers, Pitts is receiving heavy interest from three big-time SEC schools.

“Florida, Georgia and Tennessee are all recruiting him hard, but they are not going to make any commitments as far as offers until he gets his test score,” Christmas said. “Georgia’s Defensive Coordinator has said they really want him. He basically said they have a couple of backs they are recruiting hard and TJ is one of them, but they will not offer until he qualifies.”
