Holy Cross (Delran, NJ) star offensive line prospect Dennis Landolt made another unofficial visit last week, this time heading to Blacksburg, Virginia, to visit Virginia Tech. Landolt has made many unofficial trips throughout the year, including visits to Penn State, Virginia, Notre Dame, and Northwestern.

The Holy Cross standout says the visit to Tech went well and compared favorable with the rest of his trips this year.

“I was really surprised,” Landolt said of his Virginia Tech visit. He went down for one day last week with his parents. “I didn’t know what to expect, but it was really nice. All of the people I met were nice. It was a good place.

“It was comparable to other places. It was just as good as every other place I’ve visited. It was pretty impressive.”

Though Landolt says he has enjoyed each of his visits, he mentioned two campuses in particular that he liked the best so far.

“I really liked Penn State’s and Virginia Tech’s campuses,” Landolt said. “I liked the whole atmosphere at both places.”

For the remainder of the summer, Landolt hopes to see Syracuse and possibly Boston College. Before the start of his senior year he would like to know which programs he wants to officially visit. He will likely not have a decision made before the end of summer.

“I might take visits to Syracuse and Boston College,” Landolt said. “I’m pretty sure about Syracuse and I’m trying to set something up for BC. After that I’ll figure out where to visit this fall and I’ll make a decision during the fall, maybe sometime after the season. I definitely do [want to make some official visits].”

Penn State, West Virginia, and Virginia Tech are looking strong for three of the five official visits.

“I know I’ll make one to Penn State, one to West Virginia, and one to Virginia Tech,” Landolt said. “Those three I’m pretty definite on.”

Previously, Landolt listed Penn State as his favorite school. While he still very much likes the Nittany Lions, he did not name any favorites this time around.

“I like [Penn State] a lot, but every school I’ve been to this summer has really impressed me so it’s pretty hard to name a favorite,” Landolt said. “All of the schools I’ve been to are real nice.”

One school missing from this discussion so far is UVa. Landolt named the Cavaliers as his leader earlier this
