5-9, 190 pound Bethel High School cornerback Jamar Jackson attended camp at the University of Maryland this week. He appears to have enjoyed his first camp summer camp experience for 2004, and will next appear this weekend at UVa’s summer camp. Jackson will attend Virginia Tech’s senior camp next month as well.

“The Maryland camp was cool,” Jackson said. “It was a fun experience. They taught us a lot of technical stuff. They concentrated on little things for us to work on. The Defensive Backs Coach said I’m a competitor. I think I did pretty good. One 6’4” guy got me once but that’s it. I had three picks for the day.

“I’m going to UVa this Friday and then I’m going to go to Virginia Tech’s senior camp on July 10th. I’m also going with our team to JMU’s summer camp.”

Maryland, Virginia, and Virginia Tech remain Jackson’s only three scholarship offers. Other schools showing interest include Marshall and Wake Forest. During the May evaluation period, Jackson received visits from both Virginia and Virginia Tech coaches.
