North Stafford (Stafford, VA) offensive lineman Tony North has had his list narrowed down to Virginia Tech and NC State for quite some time. North, who is one of the top offensive line prospects in the state, made an unofficial visit to Virginia Tech this past weekend to get a better feel for one of his two finalists.
“I took my visit to Tech on Saturday,” North said. “I took a tour of the school and talked to some academic advisors. I talked to the people who help athletes with academics. I liked the school. I went with my Mom and Dad, and Mom had nothing but positive things to say about Virginia Tech. I liked it, but I’m still not 100 percent sure what my next move will be.”
North is hoping to decide this summer between the Hokies and the Wolfpack, however will not make an announcement unless he is absolutely certain of his decision. Though he is not sure when he’ll have a decision, North does feel he is making progress in the decision making process.
“I’m actually starting to write down thoughts about what I like about each school, what I want to major in, and what I will enjoy about being in school,” North said. “Football is not enough for me. I have to be comfortable with the school outside of football.”
Having unofficially visited both schools, North is unsure if he will visit either one again.
“It all depends how long this goes,” North said. “If it takes longer than I expect, then I might try to put in some visits during the summer just before school starts.”
When asked if he favors either school at this point, North said “I can’t really say…I can’t say.”
