Millville (NJ) defensive line prospect Dwayne Hendricks made his official visit to Miami this weekend. On the trip, he made his verbal commitment to the Hurricanes over Virginia and Iowa.
“He committed to Miami,” Millville Head Coach Dave Heck said. “Early on, he had really hoped one of the Florida schools would recruit him. The recruiter for Miami has been recruiting our school for a long time, so when they offered in the summer I felt that’s where he might end up. But he really liked and appreciated the way Iowa and Virginia recruited him. He had great visits to those places as well, but I think Miami was just where he always wanted to go.
“He made his visit this past weekend, and the main thing was he wanted to see how he fit in with the players. He guess he felt he fit in pretty well.”
The 6-4, 255 pound Hendricks is projected as a defensive tackle on the next level. UVA was recruiting him as a defensive end in the 3-4 scheme.
