Last weekend, Fork Union Military Academy prospect Maurice Reevey made an official visit to Clemson. He had an excellent visit, however FUMA Head Coach John Shuman believes the 6-3, 210 pound prospect will make a visit to Virginia Tech before making his collegiate decision.

“He had a really good visit to Clemson,” Shuman said. “They paired him with [junior defensive end] Mo Fountain, who played for us and repeated his senior year with us just like Maurice is doing. So Maurice talked to him quite a bit and they clicked. He said he had a good visit [to Clemson], but I think he’s waiting for the Virginia Tech visit. I don’t think he’ll do anything until he goes there.”

Shuman indicated that Reevey will not be able to move up his previously scheduled official visit with Virginia Tech. He is currently scheduled to visit Blacksburg on January 31st, and it appears that will not change.

“They tried to move it up,” Shuman said. “But I think he’s going to end up going to Tech on the 30th. He probably won’t be able to go this weekend, and he has his college boards on the 23rd.”

In the end, Shuman is “not sure” who Reevey will end up deciding between. He mentioned West Virginia and Pittsburgh as other schools with a chance right now. Reevey has made official visits to both of those programs.

Reevey is a physical and athletic specimen, as he combines 4.5 speed in the 40 yard dash and a 40 inch vertical leap with his large frame. He sat out for the entire season except for the final two games recovering from a stress fracture in the lower part of one of his legs.

Though Shuman did not get a chance to see what he could do out on the field, he believes Reevey could be a top player on the next level.

“We didn’t get a chance to explore his talent, but I think he is in the mold physically and athletically of Darryl Blackstock,” Shuman said. “I think he could be a great outside linebacker on the next level, and he has the frame to maybe grow into a defensive end.”

Academically, Shuman said he is “feeling comfortable now” that Reevey will qualify. He reported that Maurice earned all B’s last semester.

Josh Morgan Update…

Coach Shuman expects Josh to enroll at Virginia Tech either this Sunday or Monday, however acknowledged that the University of Iowa is still recruiting him.

“I think he enrolls this Sunday or Monday, but I’m
