Brian Toal, who is quite possibly the nation’s top two-way player, is considering making more official visits during the month of January. He has already made officials in December to Miami and Boston College, so he has three possibly visits remaining.

“I’m still thinking about it,” Toal said. “I’ll probably be scheduling some more official visits soon. I think Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Michigan, Iowa, and Penn State are all possibilities. I would say Tech and Tennessee are the biggest possibilities right now, but I’m still not sure exactly where I’ll go or when I’ll know where I’m going.”

Boston College was thought to have the edge right now with a possible decision imminent, however it appears now that he will indeed take his time with his choice. Currently, Boston College and Miami are Toal’s two favorite schools. The Don Bosco star admits that they may be the favorites because they are the only two schools he has seen.

“There’s definitely still a possibility I’ll go there (BC), but it’s not going to be any time soon,” Toal said. “I think Miami and Boston College are my favorites but that may be because that’s just where I’ve taken my visits. The Boston College visit was really good. I’ve been there so many times though that I had already done everything before, there was just better food this time (laughs). At Miami, I enjoyed hanging around with the players…it was like hanging around with stars or something (laughs). I really liked watching their practice though. That may have been my favorite part because they really get after it.”

Virginia Tech has been able to stay in the race for Toal largely in part to the work of Kevin Rogers, who is Toal’s primary recruiter.

“I really like Coach Rogers a lot,” said Toal when asked what he likes about the Hokies. “He’s a real good coach. Plus my other brother visited there and said it was an awesome place with an awesome atmosphere.”

When Brian makes his final decision, he indicated it will be based on his gut feeling more than anything else. He said he’ll know “when I think about my visits and I just fall in love with one place…that’s where I’ll go. I had a great time on my first two visits, but I want to see if any other place really impresses me.”

Last weekend, Toal participated in the Army All-American Bowl,
