Spring Valley High School (Columbia, SC) offensive tackle Leon Hart favors two schools and may end up making his decision within the next few weeks.
The two schools in question are Ohio State and Auburn. Hart has made an official visit to Ohio State and is scheduled to visit Auburn on January 17th.
“Ohio State and Auburn are the two front runners right now,” Hart said. “I like what they both have to offer. Both are headed in the right direction in terms of football, and I could contribute early for both.”
Hart may decide following his Georgia (January 9-11) and Auburn trips. If he decides to make more official visits after that point, he would go to South Carolina on January 24th and Virginia on January 31st.
“I’m waiting to see how everything goes after the Auburn visit,” Hart said. “I might be ready to decide after that visit. If I’m not, I might take the final two visits. I’m just going to wait and see if I’m ready.”
Location may not be a big factor in Hart’s final decision.
“I have thought a lot about location, but now I don’t think it will be a big factor,” Hart said. “I’m just going to choose whichever school I feel comfortable with.”
At 6-5, 290 pounds, Hart is rated one of the top offensive tackle prospects in the country. He justified his rating as an All-American last Saturday during the Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas.
“I feel like I had a real good game,” Hart said. “The game actually came easier than expected, but that was because I faced such tough competition in practice. I faced the best guy in Tim Jamison, who was a speed pass rusher. I’ll admit the first day in practice, he got me. But by the time practice ended, I felt really prepared for the game.”
