It was reported during the Army All-American Bowl that Gonzaga (DC) wide receiver Doug Dutch had narrowed his list down to two schools…Michigan and Miami. While he certainly likes both programs, Dutch appears to be even among all five schools involved.

“The reporter asked me which visits I had been on and which ones I thought were the most fun,” Dutch said. “I said Miami and Michigan. I guess he meant which schools I had narrowed my list down to. I haven’t narrowed my list. All of those five schools are even right now. I’m just looking forward to taking my last visit.”

Dutch’s fifth and final official visit will be to the University of Florida this weekend. He hopes to make his decision soon after returning from Gainesville, however is not sure exactly when or how he will announce his decision.

“I’ll probably decide when I get back,” Dutch said. “I might just come home, shut everything down and make my decision. I don’t have any favorites right now…I haven’t thought about it. I’m going to think about it all once I get back from Florida.”

Dutch did admit his favorite two visits thus far have been to Michigan and Miami, but said he had no favorites among the five. In previous updates, Dutch has mentioned that he enjoyed his Miami visit because of the social atmosphere. There were different aspects of Michigan that he enjoyed on his trip to Ann Arbor.

“At Michigan, I just gelled with the players,” Dutch said. “The coaches spent a lot of time talking to me and I liked that. And the facilities are really nice…the weight room, the stadium, all the facilities were nice.”

Today, Dutch and his family returned from San Antonio, Texas, where he played in last Saturday’s Army All-American Bowl. It was an excellent experience for the standout receiver, who seems to have made quite a few new friends from the experience.

“It was a lot of fun,” Dutch said of the Army Bowl experience. “I had a great time. Our team had a good comraderie and I was glad to be a part of it. I made a lot of friends. Some of the guys I was really close with were Xavier Lee, Xavier Carter, Fred Davis, and Dwayne Jarrett.”

With the final visit coming this week, Dutch may have a decision within the next two or three weeks. He was adament that there were no favorites among his top five, and that all five, including Virginia, were in the hunt.
