Virginia Tech received its second commitment of the week last night, as Hargrave Military Academy defensive back Brandon Flowers verbally committed to the Hokies.
A 5-11, 180 pound defensive back, Flowers played safety and cornerback for Hargrave this season. He projects as a cornerback in college, but could play safety if necessary.
“Brandon committed to Virginia Tech,” Prunty said. “He committed last night.”
Flowers chose Virginia Tech over an offer from Tennessee and interest from Minnesota and Maryland. Originally from Atlantic High School in Delray Beach, Florida, he decided to prep at Hargrave this year. He wants to enroll in January 2004, however needs to make up some ground on his SAT’s. He took the test recently and feels confident he will make it.
Brandon is familiar with several players from the Virginia Tech program, including former Atlantic teammate David Clowney.
