Culpeper (VA) safety Kent Hicks , who is one of the top prospects in the state of Virginia, has committed to Maryland.
He made an official visit to Maryland this weekend, and committed this morning before heading home.
“I committed to Maryland,” Hicks said. “I just felt comfortable there. My Dad liked it a lot. I like the campus a lot and the players.”
It appears Maryland and Tennessee had separated themselves from Virginia and Virginia Tech, two other schools strongly pursuing the athletic 6-3, 210 pound safety prospect.
“I’ve been thinking about Maryland for a while, them and Tennessee,” Hicks said. “I’m done with recruiting now though. I’m not going to take any more visits.”
Hicks had scholarship offers from all of the schools involved. He made one other official visit – to the University of Virginia on October 18th. He had made several unofficial visits to Maryland earlier this year before his official visit.
