Having been to UVA for an official visit already, outstanding JH Rose (Greenville, NC) running back Andre Brown had set up visits to NC State for the weekend of December 6th and Nebraska for the weekend of January 9th.
He had wanted to make at least these three visits before making his college decision, however his official to Nebraska is now in question with the firing of Head Coach Frank Solich.
“I just woke up this morning and found out about it,” Brown said. “That really changes where I stand with them. I’m not sure why they let a coach who went 9-3 go, but I guess they felt it was right. I’m not sure now what’s going to happen. I’ll just wait to see what they say.”
Virginia and NC State, the two programs who have appeared to pull away from the rest on Brown’s list, continue to be the favorites. The Cavaliers remain the leader.

Brown knows his looming decision will be a tough one to make.
“It’s going to be a tough decision,” Brown said. “I feel comfortable at Virginia. I don’t know…it’s going to be really tough. I’ll just have to go with my gut feeling.”
Football-wise, both programs offer similar qualities in Brown’s eyes. He feels both schools are on the rise and both would present similar playing-time situations.
“Both Wali [Lundy] and TA [McClendon] are great players,” Brown said. “NC State has another guy who didn’t qualify coming in next year too (Hargrave Military Academy RB Darrell Blackman). The competition at each I think is pretty much even. Both places would make me better. I could learn from either of those players and it would help me. The worst case scenario is I red-shirt, which would help me as well.”
Brown may decide after his NC State official visit, however he is unsure at this point when that will be. He had previously scheduled the official for the weekend of December 6th but will not be able to attend. JH Rose will face Mount Tabor High School in the Class 4-A State Championship on December 6th.
“Yeah I can’t go,” Brown said of his scheduled official visit to NC State. “The [NC State] coaches are coming...
