Though Elizabeth High School (NJ) failed to make the playoffs this season, Carlos Feliciano felt his senior season was a success. The talented offensive and defensive lineman contributed heavily on both sides of the ball this year.

“We won six games so far, so that’s pretty good,” said Feliciano, whose team faces Scott Plains in a Thanksgiving Day contest for the final regular season game. “If we win seven, that’s still a good season even though we didn’t make the playoffs. I did good on both sides of the ball. On defense I stopped running backs and, when I rushed the passer, made my presence felt to the opposing quarterback. On offense I helped opened up holes for my running back and didn’t give up any sacks on my quarterback.”

With most of his football season complete, Feliciano will now participate in Track and Field. Most of his focus, however, will turn to making his collegiate decision.

“Now that football is over, I can get down to business,” said Feliciano. “I’ll focus on choosing my college now.”

Eight schools remain in the running for one of New Jersey’s top prospects…all have extended written scholarship offers. Ohio State, Virginia, Maryland, Iowa, Michigan State, Boston College, Wisconsin, and Pittsburgh remain on his list.

Feliciano has set up official visits with four of those schools, and plans on choosing between the remaining four for the fifth and final official visit spot.

“I’ve set four visits,” said Feliciano. “I’m going to Ohio State on December 5th, Virginia on December 12th, Maryland on December 19th, and Iowa on January 23rd. Michigan State, Boston College, Wisconsin, and Pitt are the four for the fifth visit. It’s going to be a tough decision – they are all great schools.”

He discussed the four schools he has set official visits to…

Ohio State is the National Champs,” said Feliciano. “And the way things are going this year, they could make the big bowl again. That’s great. They have football tradition and great fan support. Their stadium is huge. I’ve heard they have a good campus, I just want to check it out for myself and learn about it.

Iowa is the same as Ohio State. They have good tradition and I’ve heard they have great facilities. Iowa has good academics. Like Ohio State, I want to check them
