JP Stevens (Edison, NJ) offensive lineman Jeremy Zuttah has not narrowed the field just yet, he said in an interview last night. There are around seven schools the 6-4, 285 pound line prospect is seriously considering for the five official visits.

“I’m looking at Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, Maryland, NC State, Iowa, and Rutgers,” said Zuttah, who has offers from all of the mentioned seven. Tennessee leads the list of schools that have just begun talking to him. “I hope to narrow my list down sooner than December. I don’t really have any favorites or a date I want to narrow my list by. I’m just playing it by ear.”

A combination of athletics and academics will be the most important factors as Zuttah narrows his list. He feels he will take all five official visits before deciding.

“The five I narrow it down to will be the schools I feel have the best combination of athletics and academics that suit me the best,” said Zuttah. “It will just be a gut feeling I think. [Once I narrow things down] I’m pretty sure I’ll need to take all five visits before I can make my decision.”

Zuttah projects as an offensive lineman (likely offensive guard) on the next level. Several schools have indicated they want him as a defensive tackle, however the Hokies are not one of them. Zuttah says he would “like to play offense.”

Through seven games this season, he has recorded around 50 pancake blocks. On defense, he has made around 40 tackles.

An excellent student, Jeremy boasts a 3.0 grade point average and scored a 1,260 on the SAT’s. He wants to major in Business.
