Culpeper (VA) safety Kent Hicks was unable to make his visit to Virginia Tech last weekend. While he has not rescheduled anything with the Hokies, he says he plans on doing so very soon.
He has set up official visits to Maryland and Tennessee.
“I have one visit set on December 5th to Maryland and one set for Tennessee on December 12th,” said Hicks. “They are both official visits. I couldn’t go to Virginia Tech last weekend. I will reschedule with them sometime soon.”
Hicks has already taken an official visit to Virginia on October 18th. The Cavaliers, along with Tennessee, Maryland, Virginia Tech, and Boston College round out his top five.
He indicated that he does not have any favorites.
“No school is the favorite right now,” said Hicks. “They’re all pretty much even. I’m going to make other visits. I’m not sure if I’m going to take all five.”
Maryland, Tennessee, and Virginia Tech appear certain to receive official visits within the next month or two. Hicks is unsure of when he will have a decision made.
“I’m not sure when I’m going to decide,” said Hicks. “Really, it could happen at anytime [over the next three months].”
Culpeper plays its final game of the 2003 season this Friday. The Blue Devils will not make the playoffs, so Hicks will have more time to concentrate on where he will spend his next four years.
I asked Kent if UVA was slipping down on his list, and here is what he had to say…
“They did at first, but now they are even with the rest of the schools,” said Hicks. “They made up after I took my official visit there.”
It looks like Kent’s recruiting is far from over, as he will make at least three more official visits. He indicated in a previous interview that playing time might be the biggest factor, at least football-wise, in his decision.
