Westfield (Chantilly, VA) wide receiver Eddie Royal added to his list of scholarship offers last week, when Boston College sent him a written offer.
Another school may be close to offering as well.
“I got an offer from Boston College,” said Royal. “And UNC basically told me that they are going to offer me, but they haven’t officially done it yet.”
Both programs are under consideration for official visits. Royal has scheduled two of his five so far, and says the final three spots remain up for grabs.
He has received scholarship offers from Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Boston College, Marshall, Syracuse, Kent State.
“I’m going to Virginia Tech on January 23rd and Tennessee on December 12th,” said Royal. “Hopefully for the December 12th visit we’ll still be in the playoffs and I’ll have to reschedule that one. That’s what I have right now. As for the rest, most likely I’ll go to Marshall, but I haven’t decided yet. I’m not sure about the other two.”

“I don’t have any favorites,” said Royal. “I’m going to set up the five visits, see those, and decide.”
Royal, along with teammate Sean Glennon, will make an unofficial visit to Virginia Tech to see the Miami (FL) game on Saturday. He is anxious to see the atmosphere at Lane Stadium.
“I’m going down there,” said Royal of the VT/Miami game. “I’m excited to see what the atmosphere will be like.”
On the gridiron, the 5-10, 175 pound Royal has helped Westfield to an 8-0 mark this season. He has made 25 catches for 433 yards and has six touchdown receptions. He’s added one touchdown on the ground and has several returns for scores.
Is UVA still in the mix?
