Gar-Field lost a heartbreaker to Osbourn Park 29-28 in double overtime last Friday. Gar-Field defensive end Clint Sintim felt so bad that he almost cancelled his unofficial to UVA for the Florida State game.
He decided to make the trip and was impressed with the Virginia fans.
“There were a lot of people in the stadium,” said Sintim. “It was crazy. It was good see how many people were their supporting the team. The game itself was pretty good. Virginia played well.”
The Cavaliers are one of Sintim’s three favorite schools along with Virginia Tech and Maryland. Sintim set up his official visit to Virginia for the weekend of December 12th.
He has not set up any others, but knows which five he wants to see.
“Right now, Virginia Tech, Maryland, and Virginia are the schools I can definitely see myself going to,” said Sintim. “I want to visit Virginia, Maryland, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, and Ohio State. I have offers from all of those schools except for Ohio State.”
Sintim discussed what he liked about each of the five schools he will visit. He hopes to make a decision around signing day.
“Virginia has a good program. Every year they get better and better. I like the coaches because they try to get on a more personal level with me than anyone else. I’ve got a lot of love for their coaches.”
“I was always a fan of them growing up. I watched them all the time when they had Mike Vick. They have such a great defense and great special teams. I really want to get to the Miami game on November 1st.”
“Maryland is a good program as well. They are coming up. They are not far at all from my house and I’d have a chance to play early.”
“What can you say except that they won the national championship last year. I know if I went there I’d have a good chance to win a national championship. Who wouldn’t a chance for the ring every year?”
“I’ve heard that the atmosphere is crazy. They have a great program and very devoted fans.”
