Westlake (GA) offensive lineman Courtney Abbott appears close to a decision. He may make a verbal commitment tomorrow during the day.
“Right now, I’m in the process of talking to my mom,” said Abbott. “Most likely I’ll have a decision by tomorrow. I think I will have a decision sometime during the day tomorrow.”
Abbott declined to say which schools may be in his final two or so, but said the finalists are (in no order) Georgia, LSU, Kentucky, Virginia, Florida, Florida State. He has offers from all of these programs.
Of his Virginia visit, he said…
“It was nice,” said Abbott. “My player host was Elton Brown, and he showed me the life of a player at Virginia. I really liked it a lot. The game atmosphere was crazy. I’ve never seen so many fans cheer in the cold weather so hard for their team.”
When asked what the number one thing he liked about Virginia was, Courtney said it is “that everyone there is so down to earth.”
From all accounts (including this one), Abbott loved his visit to UVA. His teammate, Michael Brown, committed to Georgia today, so I would expect the choice to be either UGA or UVA.
