Montgomery Bell Academy (Nashville, TN) tight end Tom Santi will take his official visit to Virginia this weekend, moving up the previously set date of November 29th.

“We had an off-week this weekend, so it just kind of worked out better,” said Santi, who will be accompanied by his mother and father. “I’m excited for my second visit. I’m anxious to see how it goes because I’ve heard it’s a beautiful place. This is going to be the last visit I take during the season, and it worked out nicely.”

Santi, who is one of the top tight end prospects in the nation, recently received an official scholarship offer from the Cavaliers.

“Coach [Andy] Heck came down to my game about three weeks ago, and then I spoke to Coach Groh the following Saturday and they said they were offering,” said Santi. “I thought they would so I wasn’t really sweating bullets over it, but it’s nice to have it out there.”

Virginia, LSU, Stanford, Iowa, and Tennessee are among the schools to have offered official scholarships. Iowa has received an official visit from Santi, and the Hawkeyes join the Cavaliers as the two favorites.

Santi will likely make more visits following this weekend, but they will not be until after his senior season.

“Virginia and Iowa are probably my top two,” said Santi. “I don’t really have a top five. It’s hard to explain – those two are probably the top two above everyone else, but everyone else really isn’t that far behind. So I’m still open. After this visit, I’m going to kind of put things on hold. We are having a fantastic season and I want to focus on that.”

Montgomery Bell, ranked number 13 in the country by USA Today, is 8-0 on the season. They face Memphis University School next on October 24th.
