Northside (Roanoke, VA) defensive end Brandon Holland has set up one visit thus far, and plans to take all five before making a decision.
The 6-5, 280 pound prospect has set up one visit to West Virginia. Clemson, Virginia, Tennessee, Maryland, and Virginia Tech are also being considered for official visits.
“I’m going to West Virginia on December 6th,” said Holland. “I’m planning on a date with Clemson. I’m going to the FSU/Clemson game, but I’m not sure if that will be official. I’m planning one with Virginia, but I don’t have a date yet. I went to the Virginia/Wake Forest game. I haven’t set one with Virginia Tech yet, but I probably will. Seriously, I’m there so much that I might not need one. Tennessee has been calling me too, and I would like to see them.”
He has received official offers from Virginia Tech, Maryland, West Virginia, and Clemson. North Carolina has verbally offered him. The Tar Heels want to get Holland on campus before make an official offer.
Virginia Tech is still the clear leader, but Holland wants to make his official visits to check out all of his options.
“Virginia Tech is still my favorite,” said Holland. “I’m just so close with the coaches. We talk all the time and I can talk to them about things other than football. I want to take official visits to these other places to see the campuses. These are other options I want to check out.”
All of the schools above are actively recruiting the talented big man from Roanoke. Virginia began recruiting Holland more actively after September 1st. The Cavs will look at senior film before offering according to Holland. Maryland might receive an official visit, but the Terrapins have only called twice.
Holland plans on attending several games in the next few months, including Miami at Virginia Tech and Virginia Tech at Virginia. It does not look like a decision will come any time soon.
