Charlottesville High School (VA) defensive back prospect Brandon Turner is hoping to receive some offers following his senior year performance. Currently, Virginia, VMI, Hampton, and Richmond have been in contact with him.
If he does not receive the offers he wants this year, he will give prep school some serious consideration.
“The schools I like right now are Virginia, Duke, North Carolina, Maryland, and NC State,” said Turner. “I’m getting contact from VMI, Hampton, and Richmond. I don’t have any offers yet. Most of the schools say they will be watching my first few games to further evaluate me. I like them all.
“If I don’t get the offers I want, I might go to Hargrave or Fork Union next year. We’ll see.”
Turner plays cornerback for Charlottesville, however he has the size – 6-1, 187 pounds – to play safety as well.
He brings a physical style of play to the cornerback position.
“I like to play physical,” said Turner, who runs a 4.55 in the 40. “I love bump-and-run and man-to-man defense. I take away an entire side of the field. That’s what I’m doing this year – I’m taking away the entire left side of the field.”
Turner’s favorite collegiate player is a true playmaker from the corner position.
“I love to see [Virginia cornerback] Muffin Curry play,” said Turner. “I really like his attitude. Even though he’s not the biggest out there, he plays big. He’s right in the mix always.”
There is a good chance he ends up at Hargrave or FUMA if he does not receive his desired offers, so fans may want to keep his name in mind for next year as well. Turner possesses great work ethic as well as ability.
