Devonta Brown is a 6-3, 235 pound linebacker prospect from Charlottesville High School (VA). He has received a scholarship offer from the University of Virginia and is receiving serious interest from Clemson, Maryland, Duke, and North Carolina.
Edge: Did you attend UVA’s victory over Wake Forest Saturday? If so, what did you think about the game?
DB: “Yes I did. It was kind of frustrating. I was just hoping they would get that interception, and I was excited when they did.”
Edge: Did you think Hughes was going to make the 53-yard field goal?
DB: (Laughing) “No I didn’t think he would make it. It’s good that he did. I’m really glad they won the game.”
Edge: Speaking of winning games, your team won its first game last week.

Edge: Who are some of the Virginia players you have become good friends with?
DB: “Chris Johnson, who played with me last year at Charlottesville. I’ve also gotten to know Vince Redd, Jermaine Dias, and Ahmad Brooks.”
Edge: What did you think of Brooks’ performance on Saturday?
DB: “He did really good. Even though he’s just a freshman, he’s got a lot of experience under his belt. I like the way he plays, and I want to be just like that.”
Edge: How does Chris Johnson like UVA so far?
DB: “He likes it a lot. They are red-shirting him this year, but they expect him to play a lot next year at defensive end. They trimmed him down and are now putting a lot of muscle weight on him. With the way they are getting him to look, I could only imagine what they could do with me.”
Edge: You and Chris Long...
