JH Rose High School (NC) running back Andre Brown will make his first official visit this weekend, taking a trip to the University of Virginia.
The Cavaliers will take on Wake Forest this Saturday, and hope to put in a good showing for one of the top players in the state of North Carolina.
“I’m going down to Virginia this weekend for an official visit,” said Brown. “The other four will be some time in December. I’m going to visit NC State, Miami (FL), Tennessee, and Nebraska. These are the five I’m going to choose from. I don’t have a leader right now.”
Brown has taken a liking to Virginia’s coaching staff as well as their wide open style of offense.
“I really like the coaches,” said Brown. “They are really down to earth. I really like the offensive coordinator, Ron Prince. He’s down to earth. I can’t really explain it; it’s just something about them that I really like.
“I’ve been reading about Virginia, and I see that everyone throws the ball and everyone catches the ball. They have a versatile offense and I think I would fit in to that offense well.”
An early commitment is possible, however it looks like Brown will make all five visits before deciding.
“If I like it, I might be committing…you never know,” said Brown. “I’ll probably decide after all of my visits are over. Right now, all I’m hearing is how every school is great and things like that. I want to know what the players think, if the coaches are telling the truth or not.”
No doubt UVA wants an early commitment from Brown, especially with the rest of his visits coming in December. Virginia has done well to make it to Brown’s top five and hopes to keep the ball rolling.

“Individually, I’m doing well,” said Brown. “It’s not easy because I put so much pressure on myself. Plus I’m seeing eight, nine, and even 10 men in the box. I always have a monster man following me everywhere I go. It will help me on the next level, but it’s still tough.
“Our team is 4-1. We are in pretty good shape. We lost last Friday [September 12th] in a game we should have won....
