Plainfield (NJ) defensive end Dan Davis wants to make all five official visits before making his decision. He hopes to know the dates of those visits within the next week.
While the dates are unresolved, the schools receiving the visits appear to be set.
“I’ve been working so hard on my homework, that I haven’t had a chance to think about my visit dates,” said Davis. “I’m not going to schedule any visits until next week. I know I’m going to visit Nebraska, Maryland, Georgia, Virginia, and Rutgers. Well, I’m also considering a visit to Connecticut. If I do that, I’m thinking I would just unofficially visit Rutgers because they are in-state.”
All of the schools mentioned above have contacted Davis during the month of September. He has received offers from Virginia, Nebraska, and Rutgers.
Davis does not have a favorite among his top five. A decision may come late in the recruiting process, as he wants to take official visits following his senior season.
“My favorite schools are the five I know I will visit – Rutgers, Virginia, Nebraska, Georgia, and Maryland,” said Davis. “All of the schools are even to me.”
At 6-3, 247 pounds, Davis is ready for his senior season to begin. He faced a tough test recently when Plainfield scrimmaged a JP Stevens squad featuring outstanding offensive line prospect Jeremy Zuttah.
“I think I did very well against him,” said Davis, who plays defensive end for Plainfield. Virginia is recruiting him as an outside linebacker/defensive end. “When it was our first team against their first team, I got to go head to head with him. He was a good player.”
