For one of the top wide receiver prospects in the country, narrowing down the recruiting list can be a difficult chore. The same goes for Gonzaga wide receiver Doug Dutch , however he has managed to narrow things down somewhat.
The 6-2, 185 pound speed burner knows of four schools he would like to officially visit. He lists those schools as his four favorites.
“My top four are Miami (FL), Florida, Michigan, and Virginia,” said Dutch, who recently received a scholarship offer from Miami (FL). “The schools vying for the fifth spot are Pittsburgh, Maryland, and Notre Dame. Right now, all I know is that I want to officially visit my top four – I have already set up dates with Michigan on December 14, Virginia on November 29, and I think Florida will be in December or January. I will definitely visit Miami as well.”
Dutch plans on taking all five official visits and wants to decide around the February Signing Day. With all of these options in front of him, he believes it will come down to where he feels most comfortable.
“All of the schools I’m looking at are great programs,” said Dutch. “I think, in the end, it will just be a gut feeling that tells me where to go. Then, hopefully I will make the right decision and stick with it.”
Heading into his senior year, Dutch has been one of the more hyped players coming out of the DC area. Anxious to prove he is worth all of the talk, he is eager to step back onto the field. Dutch is expecting a big season following a summer where he became stronger, faster, and with a larger array of moves.
“I’ve been lifting, working out, and going to camps all summer,” said Dutch. “I want to prove myself out there. I feel great – stronger and faster. Plus I have some new things I learned this summer during the camps. I’ll be sure to let the cornerbacks find out what I’ve learned.”
