Linebacker/defensive end Hilee Taylor is very close to a decision. He will choose between Virginia Tech, North Carolina, South Carolina, Clemson, East Carolina, and NC State by no later than this Friday, which is the start of his senior football season.
According to Taylor, all of his favorites have offered and all are still in contention for his services.
“I have written offers from Virginia Tech, UNC, and South Carolina, and verbal offers from the other three,” said Taylor. “I will decide by this Friday. All of the schools are still under consideration.”
Though Taylor would obviously love to play for a top football program, his decision will come down to reasons other than football.
“I will make my decision based on the academic program,” said Taylor, who wants to major in Engineering. “I need to go to the place that’s best for me if I couldn’t play football anymore. That’s what I’m basing my decision on. I need to think about my future other than football.”
Heading into the first game of his final season at Scotland High School (Lauringburg, NC), Taylor is not letting the pressure of choosing a school affect his preparation.
“It’s tough to think about my decision when I’m practicing,” said Taylor. “I don’t think about it at all. I only think about it when I’m at home, so it hasn’t really hurt my preparation at all.”
It looks like all of the schools involved have a good shot at landing Taylor, as he stated that “no school is a favorite right now.”
