Trimaine Goddard , who was looking like he would make a collegiate decision at the start of his senior season, now looks as if he will wait until the end of his season to announce his decision.
While he will take more time to decide, it appears he still likes two schools in particular better than the rest.
“I’ll probably decide after the season,” said Goddard. “I still like UNC, UVA, FSU, and Georgia. I like UNC and UVA the best, and they are still very close.”
Goddard plans to take some visits, either official or unofficial, which may help in his decision.
“I will probably take a couple of visits,” said Goddard. “I think I will go to a [North] Carolina home game and a Virginia home game. I may possibly head to Tennessee as well.”
In a scintillating first game of the 2003 season, Goddard proved why he is such a hot commodity. As quarterback for Roanoke HS (NC), he rushed for 194 yards and four touchdowns, and completed three of four passes for 46 yards in a 58-0 romp over Columbia.
The hype Goddard has received since the end of his junior year did not affect his performance. A mild-mannered individual, he has not let all of the attention bother him on the field.
“I didn’t let the hype bother me because I knew what my abilities were,” said Goddard. “I’ve kept a level head throughout everything. It doesn’t bother me.”
It looks like Goddard’s decision will come during the fall, however the Cavaliers appear to still be very much in the hunt. It should be a close one between the Heels and Hoos for Roanoke HS’s star player.
