Hilton Pitts, a 6-3, 215 pound wide receiver prospect from Greenacres, Florida, is another John I Leonard High School player receiving Division I interest.
Pitts, who joins athlete Toney Collins, RB/DB Kenny McNealy, and now DB Damian Sims (transfer-in) as potential D-I prospects for head coach Terry Gough, has received three scholarship offers.
“Hilton has received three offers to my knowledge,” said Gough. “The three I have pinned up in my office are from Virginia Tech, Iowa State, and Cincinnati. I haven’t spoken with him since the beginning of summer, so I’m not sure if he has any favorites or not.”
A dual-sport star, Pitts has been playing AAU basketball throughout the summer. Football practice begins today, and Gough says his star receiver is looking good for the season.
Gough expects good things this year from Pitts, who has all the tools to be a very good wide receiver prospect.
“He looks good – I just saw him today,” said Gough. “He’s about 6-3, 215 pounds. He’s a great player. He’s big bodied and has excellent hands. I’ve never timed him in the 40, but I would say he runs somewhere around a 4.5. Nobody catches him from behind – I’ll say that much.”
