Summer camps have been very successful for Osbourn Park (Manassas, VA) offensive line prospect Zak Stair . He received official offers from Virginia and Maryland following each of the two respective camps, bringing his offer total to three including Syracuse.
“I visited UVA’s camp for the second session in late June,” said Stair. “On the last day, coach Groh called me in. They told me they liked what they saw and they were offering me. I got the official papers a few days later. I went to Maryland for one day as well. I worked out for them. I did pretty well, but I could have done better because I was a little sick. They liked me and offered me.”
Earlier this month, Stair visited Virginia Tech’s camp. Though he did not receive an offer, he did have a positive experience in Blacksburg.
“They didn’t really say much to me, which was a surprise,” said Stair. “I had a good time down there though. I went down there with my friends.”
Even with the additional offers, Stair is not trying to focus too much on making his decision. There is a slight chance he may decide before the season starts, but he is not going to put pressure on himself to do anything.
“I don’t really have any favorites,” said Stair. “I’m trying not to really think about it actually. I don’t want to get stressed out about it. It would be nice to make a decision before the start of the season, but I don’t think it will happen. I’ll probably wait a little longer – until after the season.
“The only team I’m committed to right now is Osbourn Park.”
According to Stair, most schools are recruiting him to play offensive tackle. He is an excellent athlete, excelling in both football and basketball.
