Indian River (Chesapeake, VA) running back Brandon Ore received his first official scholarship offer this week, when Virginia Tech provided him with one before he left the Hokies summer football camp.
Virginia Tech is the only school to officially offer Ore. They are also his current leader.
“Virginia Tech gave me my first offer before I left their camp,” said Ore, who has received verbal offers from Virginia, Tennessee, Penn State, Maryland, and North Carolina. “Right now they are at the top of my list. I had an opportunity to talk to the coaches. I like the campus, and it’s a place I could really see myself at.”
Ore’s camp experience in Blacksburg was a very successful one. He has also been to camp at the University of Virginia, where he had a positive experience as well.
“It was a great experience at Virginia Tech’s camp,” said Ore. “I learned a lot of new things. The Virginia camp was a great opportunity as well. I got to meet some of the players and talked to them. They verbally offered me and said an official offer was in the mail.”
An early decision will not be coming from Ore, as he stills wants to make some official visits.
“I won’t decide early,” said Ore. “I still want to take some official visits.”
Most schools are recruiting Ore as a running back. He combines 4.4 speed with a good frame, which gives him the ideal size and speed of a college back.
