Following the spring evaluation period, it appears that a new name belongs among the list of top running back prospects in the state of Virginia. The player is Brandon Ore, a 6-2, 195 pound back from Indian River in Chesapeake, VA.
Ore runs a 4.4 in the 40 yard dash and has a vertical leap of over 35 inches. Combine those numbers with his size and you have an awesome athlete, one who has received scholarship offers from Penn State, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Maryland, and North Carolina.
“Coaches say they like my speed and quickness, first of all,” said Ore, who is being recruited as a running back by the five schools who have offered. “I can also see the field really well. I like to elude defenders. I could [run over players], but that’s not my running style.”
Of the five schools who have offered, Ore claims to have no favorites. Instead, he wants wait to see which other schools decide to offer him in the fall.
Ore likes the recruiting process and wants to be patient in making a decision.
“I’m enjoying the process a whole lot,” said Ore. “I really don’t have any favorites right now – I’m interested in all of the schools who have offered me. I want to wait until after my senior season before thinking about my decision to see what other schools offer me.”
This summer, Ore plans on attending camps at Penn State, Virginia, and Virginia Tech. The Virginia camp will be the first one he attends, taking place on June 22. He will also participate in a camp at his high school.
As a junior, Ore rushed for 963 yards and eleven touchdowns in just eight games. Stay tuned as we follow the recruitment of this up-and-coming prospect in the future months.
