AQ Shipley , one of the top prospects in Pennsylvania, has narrowed his list to eight schools. The Moon Area (Coraopolis, PA) lineman plans on taking unofficial visits this summer to his eight favorites and hopes to make a decision before the start of his senior season.
“It’s probably down to eight,” said Shipley. “Pitt, Penn State, Michigan, Iowa, UVA, Notre Dame, Syracuse, and Tennessee. I want to take visits to these schools during the summer and I want to make my decision at the end of the summer, before my senior season.”
While the above mentioned schools are the eight who stand above the rest, Shipley plans on visiting more than just those this summer and has not ruled out any school he visits. He plans on beginning his visits within the next two weeks.
”After school ends, I will begin my visits, which will be sometime around June 11 or 12,” said Shipley. “I’m going to head down to UVA first, and then go to Virginia Tech and then the Carolina schools. I’m just going to take one day trips to each school.”
Virginia has been one of the teams recruiting him the hardest, says the 6-3, 275 pound Shipley, which has really helped the Cavaliers make his top eight list.
“They’ve sent me the most stuff,” said Shipley of Virginia. “Coach Rocco has spoken to me a lot of times over the phone. He has done a great job. Coach Heck came up to see me recently as well.
“[The top eight schools standout] because of the way they have all treated me throughout this process and because of each schools tradition athletically and academically.”
Shipley has received scholarship offers from all eight of his favorites. He hopes to narrow his list of schools to four or five by July before making his final decision.
