Robinson (Fairfax, VA) High School athlete Chase Anastasio publicly announced his college choice today in a press conference at the school, and the multi-talented prospect ended a fierce three-way recruiting battle by naming Notre Dame as the winner.
Anastasio selected the Fighting Irish over UVa and Virginia Tech.
“It was a tough decision between Notre Dame, UVa, VT, and Ohio State, and then I narrowed it down to Notre Dame, Virginia, and Virginia Tech — not exactly in that order — and then I was able to choose Notre Dame.”
Notre Dame recruited him as a wide receiver, but Anastasio said he doesn’t really care which position he gets to play, as long as he gets to play.
“When I talked with Coach Willingham, and he sat down and told me how I would fit in, that’s when I knew I wanted to go to Notre Dame,” Anastasio said.
