Stratford (SC) running back Rodney Kinlaw concludes his official visits this weekend as he goes to Virginia Tech.
The Hokies are one of the three finalists for the speedy running back, who hopes to decide next week.
“I hope to decide by next Saturday (February 1st),” said Kinlaw, who was selected to the NC/SC Shrine Bowl as a senior. “I visit Virginia Tech this weekend, and then I will decide.”
He has already visited his other two favorites – Clemson and Penn State. Kinlaw and his family returned late last night from his visit to Penn State.
“The Penn State visit was good,” said Kinlaw. “They did a good job of showing me what they offer academically and where I will fit in on offense. They said I could come in and compete at running back for some early playing time.”
Kinlaw, whose first two official visits have compared favorably, is enjoying learning more about each of his finalists.
“Both schools did a great job of stressing academics and showing me where I fit in on the field,” said Kinlaw. “I think I could play early anywhere I go. Wherever I decide to go, I will work hard as soon as I get there.”
Once he concludes his official visits, Kinlaw will make his decision based on one simple thing.
“I’m going to listen to my heart,” said Kinlaw. “I will go wherever I feel most comfortable with the coaches and the players.”
Kinlaw does not know if he will have a press conference announcing his choice – he just wants to have a decision by next Saturday. It’s anyone’s guess as to which lucky school he will choose.
