Irvington defensive tackle Nathaniel Robinson has made a last minute change of plans concerning his official visits.
Originally scheduled to visit Virginia this weekend, the All-American prospect delivered a surprising answer when asked about this weekend’s trip.
“I’m not going there,” said Robinson. “I’m going to Syracuse now. Virginia said they got a few commitments this week and that they might not have enough room for me.
“Plus, they run a 3-4, and I really want to play in a 4-3. That’s also a factor.”
In addition to Syracuse, Robinson also lists Miami, North Carolina, Maryland, and Rutgers in his top five. He will take official visits to the Hurricanes, Terrapins, and Tarheels following the trip to Syracuse.
This is a very surprising development for a much anticipated weekend. Besides the ensuing number crunch with scholarships, the Virginia staff may not have felt too good about their chances of landing Robinson.
