Rumors were swirling this weekend about a possible verbal commitment to Virginia Tech from outstanding LB/DB James Griffin of Pasadena City College in Pasadena, California. TSL was able to catch up with Griffin Sunday night to see if the rumors had any truth.

“No, I haven’t committed [to Virginia Tech],” said Griffin. “Someone called last night saying he heard those rumors, but it’s not true. I haven’t decided.”

To the contrary, Griffin listed another school that appears to be tops on his list at the moment.

“Oregon is number one,” said Griffin. “The Oregon coaches are coming out to see me tomorrow. They come to see me often, like I am the main priority in their recruiting class. Every time they come they show me more of their defensive playbook.
