Deke has been recognized the last two years as an All-California Interscholastic Federation scholar athlete. He lived in Centreville, VA, for two years before moving to California.

Coach Grady: "Scott has a very strong arm, which is getting stronger. He took over at starting quarterback for us about 5 or 6 games through the season. He's quick. He may not blow by you, but he can certainly throw on the run. He's a good athlete."
