Matt Welsh

Notes: Matt Welsh is the top offensive lineman in Virginia this year. He ended the 2001 season weighing 250 pounds, then put on 25 pounds before the 2002 season, with a goal of 300 by the time he goes to Blacksburg. Welsh picked the Hokies over Tennessee, Virginia, and WVU. Welsh attended the Tom Lemming photo shoot in Blacksburg on May 5th, but had seen VT enough times to already be familiar with the Hokies. First-team all-state as a junior; did not make all-state as a senior due to a knee injury
