Comments from TSL Guru Rev. Zeke Vodka: Malcolm Delaney is the almost prototypical Seth Greenberg backcourt player and is entering the program at a most useful time. He is just the kind of combo guard that Greenberg has historically chased after. He might not be the pure point guard that Nigel Munson is, but neither were Jamon Gordon or Zabian Dowdell, and both of them flourished under Greenberg during their four years at Tech.

Delaney has the size at 6-3 that enables him to play off the ball, yet he can handle well enough to give you minutes at point. His deep shooting, while streaky, is one of his strengths and his decision-making with the ball improved significantly over his high school career, enabling many programs to envision him being able to play the point guard position. He is quick enough that he can become a good defender at the college level, at either backcourt position. Delaney is equally comfortable at either position and that might be his greatest value at Virginia Tech, being able to slot in at any time at both backcourt positions.
