Notes: As a junior, Fitzgerald racked up 49 tackles (28 unassisted), five sacks, six tackles-for-loss, three fumble recoveries (one returned for a touchdown), and three forced fumbles. He had 12 receptions for 229 yards and three scores as a tight end on offense. For his junior year performance, he earned first-team All-Region, first-team All-District, and second-team All-State honors (coaches) at defensive end. He earned second-team All-District honors at tight end.

A dual-sport star, Fitzgerald stars in basketball as well as football.

Coach Kane: "What makes him so good, other than his size and athleticism, is that he has quick hands. He really uses his hands well. He’s also like another coach on the field in that he makes good reads. He picks up on stuff that other teams are doing and relays it to his teammates. Jeff really understands the game.”
