As far as the Assistants I would say their strengths are as follows:

Coach Frayer is IMO clearly the mental coach. I think he’s great with the guys when it comes to the head game and honestly I think this is one of the hardest traits to find in a coach. Coach Robie was great at this as well so adding a guy like Frayer to help the mental durability has been huge. I think Gus and Brent have reaped the reward of this quite a bit.

Coach Molinaro is among one of the most technical wrestlers in the game right now. I know his gorilla hulk look might make it seem as though he has the physical gifts on lock, but he really isn’t as great of an athlete as most of the guys he wrestles. He’s a pure technician and this is his impact has shown on Blees and Lewis the most IMO. Blees has taken his technique to another level and Lewis has tightened up a lot of things that I believe held him back from being at that next level in high school.

Ty just has a love for the program and the sport of wrestling that has to help the morale. Having a coach like that who is going through the same grind the guys are, but at the senior level has to be inspiring for the guys and someone who isn’t far removed from their situation that they can easily relate to.

Coach Graffs work ethic is on another level. I think his affect will be seen more through the offseason and how hard the guys work and how much it shows next season.

I really like this coaching staff. It’s so well balanced with all the strengths of the coaches being things you want in a young wrestlers.
