Does having that mindset really address the (root?) problem


or does it simply add to the (root?) problem? Even though people may believe that college football and college men's basketball are unofficially pro leagues at some level, people don't want to see college athletics become professional. It seems to me that spending more money to keep up with the Joneses is only taking college athletics 1 step closer to that destination.
