In some aspects it seems morally wrong that law enforcement
is allowed participate in criminal activity and be immune from prosecution. I get the intent and don't necessarily disagree with it in principle. There are a lot of bad people in this world who would commit crimes regardless whether law enforcement had sting operations or not. However, it seems like society has a criminal activity problem and I have wondered at times if some of the tactics used by law enforcement doesn't end up feeding the problem instead of fixing it. It is a little ironic given that I wanted to go into law enforcement (specifically US Marshals Witness Protection Program) while at VT.
