Additional thoughts as far as actually winning the dual

125 - Norstrem really needs to wrestle for the Hokies to have a shot IMO. Not that he is favored to win but if he can keep under 8 we will give up only 3 team points.

133 - A swing match on paper if you look at common opponents. I give DGusa slight edge due to experience. Dennis can sometimes surprise people with his top game and he did crush wilson last year....however wilson is not the same guy. Close decision Dennis

141 - Very optimistic about Moore...he is wrestling gritty and tough. He has a punchers chance and has proven that he is not afraid to go big. That said it would be a massive upset...Jack wins but I am saying by decision

149 - On paper another swing match...but I like how Blees is wrestling. Gritty tough...and he has looked better against common opponents

157 - BC or Solomon are underdogs against Hidlay....Chisko is less likely to matke big mistakes that could cost us bonus points although I think BC is wrestling better right now. Hidlay wins but this is a danger match

165 - Mcfadden wins...and this is a guy he could bonus....we will really need this actually

174 - Bolen / Bullard - swing match ...I like the way bolen is wrestling...he needs to be up for this match.

184 - ZZ vs Renda - on paper is close....this year Renda has beat common opponents by higher margins which is telling. ZZ has two wins over Renda but lost the last meeting two years ago. On paper its pretty even...I give this a slight Renda lean....hope i am wrong. ZZ moves up the rankings if he pulls it.

197 - Jared vs mach - Folks could call this a swing match....I dont think so. Feels like a workman like 4 -2 , 5 -3 , 6 - 3 type decision for Haught

HWT - Although Dunn has a win over Boykin, Boykin has looked strong against common opponents ( slightly).... its a swing match but given the fact that its in the Raleigh I give boykin the edge. Any OT match I think favors Dunn...he has a pretty good gas tank for a big guy


NCST has 3 matches that they have a decent chance in getting bonus points. Va tech only one. This could be a big factor. Hokies are only really heavy favorites in 1 match ( 65) and I would say NC ST is heavy favorites in 3 ( 125,141,157). You could make arguments that ( 133,149,174,184,197,HWT) could go either way.

Of those matches I think the hokies are slightly stronger at ( 133/149/197). I think NCST is slightly favored at ( 184,HWT yes even though Dunn won earlier)...174....flip a coin. Bolen - make me a wrong!


This should be a really good dual....any match that bonus points are scored will be huge....
