Yup, good one. A possible theory tying in with

In football. Older brother is a 3 star. Yeah, you take him. Then younger bro (or 2) are 4 stars and you take them when they come along because you have 85 scholarships and a 3 star is certainly good enough.

But in basketball, perhaps the older brother is rated #80 in the country. Duke likely doesn't pursue that guy because they only have 12 scholarships, and are likely recruiting top 50 guys. But when younger bro, rated # 18 shows up, they do. Younger bro wants the bigger limelight opportunity and DOESN'T follow in older bro footsteps.
