Here's my problem with the article and why I believe there is over-reaction

The window for win/loss has reduced drastically for college basketball. This is a bigger concern for the big programs. We are in a one-and-done paradigm with respect to student athletes. There is a shot clock on programs ability to win with given the elite talent they have on the court. If they don't accomplish it this year they may lose a good part of their talent to the NBA. So yes there is an over-reaction in college basketball. The fan base wants to see their elite program continue to perform. Yet realistically there won't be many seniors on the team. It's an interesting and stressful time to be a major coach and program in the college bball.
