I lived in a so-so part of northridge. A 1 bedroom condo a block away


was going for between $600k and $700k. The other big problem is, you HAVE to come in with your down payment in cash and I'm talking 20% in cash. Many times you'll get outbid by an all cash offer from Asia and it doesn't matter how good your offer is, they're taking cash.

Foreign real estate investment has artificially ballooned those west coast real estate markets.

After living there, I wouldn't even consider moving back there for a job paying less than $250k a year and some serious living expense benefits.
